Ohio commission approves plans to build nine schools

The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission will provide more than half of the $450 million construction cost.

With funding assistance from the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission, nine new schools will be built in the state.

The commission is providing $242 million of the $450 million needed to construct the campuses. The rest of the funding comes from local districts.

The projects receiving commission funding:

  • Carrollton Exempted Village – Build elementary portion of new PK-12 building
  • Kenton City School District – Build one new middle/high school to house grades 6-12 & career tech program
  • Lancaster City School District – Build one new high school to house grades 9-12 & career tech program
  • Lockland Local School District – Renovation of K-12 building Milford Exempted Village School District – Build new middle school Rootstown Local School District – Build new PK-12 building
  • Metro Early College High School – Renovate existing middle school to house grades 6-12
  • Ashland County-West Holmes Joint Vocational School District – Renovate and expand career center
  • Cleveland Municipal School District – Build two new elementary/middle schools to house PK-8; Build one new high school to house grades 9-12
  • Renovate Joseph M. Gallagher Middle School to house grades PK-9
