A School of the Arts addition will open next month at Central Gwinnett High School in Lawrenceville, Ga.
The new space will offer conservatory programs in art, design, dance, technology and audio production, theater and voice. Along with the conservatory program, the school will offer a fellows program, which offers elective courses in creative writing, music and theater, reports CBS Atlanta.
The 31,000-square-foot addition has been constructed next to the existing high school, and the campus will have separate entrances to the fine arts space.
It will have a black box theater for flexible staging and small-audience performances, visual arts classrooms and computer art labs, expanded space for band, orchestra, chorus, and music technology, and recording studios.
In the school's first year, only freshmen and sophomore students will attend. After the first year, most students accepted into the conservancy will be incoming freshmen.
