Clawson (Mich.) district plans centralized campus for all its schools
The Clawson (Mich.) district has won voter approval to consolidate all its school buildings on one campus.
Passage of a $55.9 million bond proposal will enable the district to have all 1,350 students on a single campus; the high school, and middle school and elementary school will be joined by a common corridor, reports Royal Oak Tribune.
Faced with declining enrollment, Clawson decided to pursue funding for a single campus to “right-size” its facilities and make a number of infrastructure improvements.
District officials began considering a bond issue last year after the Troy School District rejected a proposed merger.
Construction is set to begin next summer.
