New Construction
Manhattan High School in Manhattan, Kan., is building a freshman wing
As the 2021-22 school year begins, the Manhattan-Ogden (Kan.) district's Manhattan High School is still under construction.
The expansion will enable the district to house the freshman class on the high school campus. The freshmen now have their own building a mile away from the main school, reports KSNT.com news.
The expansion will simplify transportation for the freshman class. Students are shuttled between the campuses, which are 10 minutes apart.
The $29.4 million project consists of 70,000 square feet of new classrooms, a gym, fitness center, practice field, tennis courts, and parking lot.
The project is expected to be complete by August 2022.
