The Hortonville (Wis.) school district has broken ground on a $21 million expansion at Greenville Middle School.
The middle school saw a 30% increase in enrollment over the last four years, prompting the need for more space, reports the Post Crescent.
The middle school will add classrooms, computer labs, health and foreign language classrooms, a larger library, physical education space, and locker rooms.
A $41 million bond referendum will enable the district to pay for the middle school expansion along with upgrades at the high school.
Hortonville High School is also being expanded. Those improvements include a secured building entry, a two-story classroom, expanded math classrooms, study and collaboration spaces, relocated administrative and student service areas, new and renovated locker rooms and a bigger parking lot.
Blue Design Group, LLC is designing the facility and Miron Construction Co., is the contractor.
