Kansas State University is constructing three new athletic facilities

The university is building a new volleyball arena, an Olympic performance center, and an indoor football center on the Manhattan campus.

Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan., is constructing new facilities for its athletics department. 

The university is building a volleyball arena, an Olympic performance center and an indoor football center, the university says in a news release. 

Construction is expected to begin in early 2022. 

The three facilities will cost $126.5 million. The university has raised about $96.5 million through donor funds. The indoor football center will also have an outdoor practice field. The facility will feature a full outdoor turf practice field, 130-yard indoor turf practice field, accessibility to the Vanier Family Football Complex and a limestone exterior to match stadium and campus architecture.

The volleyball arena will accomodate 3,500 spectators, and have two practice courts with retractable seating, two video boards, team meeting rooms, locker room, team theater and coaching offices.

Attached to the new volleyball arena will be an Olympic  performance center. The facility will feature a 14,000-square-foot strength and conditioning center, 8,000-square-foot second level multiuse turf area, plyometric ramp, sports medicine rehab space, hydrotherapy recovery area, nutrition and refueling station, office space for athletic training and strength staffs along with a mental health and wellness space.

Construction is expected to finish by fall 2023.
