North Canton City (Ohio) district is constructing primary and intermediate schools
The North Canton City (Ohio) district is constructing two new schools.
The $58 million project replaces five buildings and consolidates students into two schools, reports The Repository.
The Mary L. Evans Early Childhood Center, Clearmount Elementary and Northwood Elementary will be consolidated into a primary school for students in pre-school through second grade.
Greentown Intermediate and Orchard Hill Intermediate will be merged into an intermediate building for students in third, fourth and fifth grades.
The 58,180-square-foot primary school is expected to house more than 900 students.
Students will have access to two playgrounds, one for preschoolers and another for students in kindergarten through second grade.
North Canton voters approved a $58.5 million bond issue to pay for the new schools, as well as improvements to the football stadium and a new bus garage.
SoL Harris/Day Architecture is the architect, and Hammond Construction is the builder.
Construction is expected to be finished in 2023.
