The Pipestone (Minn.) school district has finished construction on a $30 million elementary school.

Pipestone Elementary School has 85,940 square feet of space and serves students in grades pre-k through fifth, according to a Kraus-Anderson news release

The elementary was built as an addition to the district's existing middle school and high school building to consolidate all  1,150 of the district’s students into a single building.

The 500 elementary school students had been split between two aging facilities.

The new two-story elementary space has a central visitor entrance providing greater security, and an expanded kitchen and cafeteria to accommodate the influx of new students. The project also reconfigured parking on the campus.

The elementary school was designed by ISG Architects and was constructed by Kraus-Anderson.
