Construction begins on an $118 million K-12 campus in the Savanah-Chatham County (Ga.) district
The Savanah-Chatham County (Ga.) school district has begun the construction of a $118 million K-12 school facility in Garden City.
The project is consolidating several schools under one roof, the district says in a news release. About 2,400 students from Gould Elementary School, Mercer Middle School, and Groves High School are expected to attend the new school, which is being built on the Groves High School site.
The 400,000-square-foot school will have a digital media lab, labs for aviation and logistics as well as business and family consumer sciences.
The campus also will feature a two-story, 750-seat auditorium with a full-scale performance production stage.
Other campus amenities include an athletics complex, a football stadium with a field house and a competitive track and field area, multipurpose soccer fields, tennis courts, a high school baseball field, a high school softball field, a little league field, two indoor gyms, and more.
Charles Perry Partners is the contractor for the project.
