Rowan University's Glassboro, N.J., campus opens a $47 million academic building
Rowan University's Glassboro, N.J. campus has opened Discovery Hall, a $47 million, four-story facility that provides additional science education and research space.
The building houses the university's School of Earth & Environment and College of Science & Mathematics. It will serve students pursuing careers in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields.
Building features include six active learning classrooms, four chemistry labs, two biology labs, six traditional lecture spaces and specialty research labs for geology, paleontology, environmental science, computational research and molecular paleontology.
School officials say about 1,200 students will be using the labs every semester.
Other recent campus construction includes Holly Pointe Commons, a 1,400-bed residence hall in 2016; Business Hall, home to the Rohrer College of Business, in 2017; Engineering Hall in 2018; and Rowan Boulevard, which was completed in 2019.
Rowan next month breaks ground on a museum and welcome center at the Jean & Ric Edelman Fossil Park of Rowan University in Mantua Township.
