Mississippi school for hearing- and speech-impaired students breaks ground on new facility

The Magnolia Speech School's new campus will offer more resources and enhanced technology.

Magnolia Speech School, which serves children with hearing and speech impediments, has broken ground on a new facility in Madison, Miss.

The 30,000-square-foot building is being constructed to handle increased enrollment, reports WJTV Channel 12 News. The existing school is in Jackson.

The new campus will feature an expanded clinic for outpatient services and will offer more resources and technology to meet the specific needs of students and families.

The school now enrolls 75 students and hopes to be able to grow to over 100 students once the new building is completed.

Construction is expected to be finished in fall 2022. 

The architects are  Dean and Dean/Associates Architects and Mackey Mitchell Architects.

Brasfield & Gorrie is the contractor.
