The Lompoc (Calif.) district will be constructing additional classrooms at four elementary school campuses over the next five years to accommodate the state's planned transitional kindergarten program.
The $2.7 billion universal transitional kindergarten program is intended to be offered to all 4-year-olds by 2025-26, reports the Lompoc Record.
Classroom additions will be at Fillmore, La Cañada, Arthur Hapgood, and Clarence Ruth elementary schools. Each of the four campuses will receive two new classrooms.
The project is expected to cost the district about $4.2 million
