Touro College is creating a campus in Times Square
The Touro College and University System plans to establish a 243,305-square-foot campus in Times Square in New York City.
Touro intends to transform eight floors of the 30-story 3 Times Square building into classrooms, science and technology labs, offices and event space. The college will have a dedicated entrance and lobby, the college says in a news release.
Other features include a library, academic facilities, laboratories, student lounges and cafes.
Touro was established in 1970 and focuses on higher education for the Jewish community. It has numerous locations throughout New York City. It has 35 locations in four countries and has a total of 19,000 students enrolled.
Seven of Touro's schools will be housed at the Times Square location-- the College of Pharmacy, New York School of Career & Applied Studies, Graduate School of Business, Graduate School of Education, Graduate School of Jewish Studies, Graduate School of Social Work and Graduate School of Technology.
Construction is slated to be complete in January 2023.
