The Orange County (Fla.) district is building a larger campus for its Orange Technical College – West Campus in Winter Garden, Fla.

The $42.3 million, 116,223-square-foot facility will replace a building that no longer has space for expanding, reports The West Orange Times & Observer.

OTC West, traditionally known as Westside Tech, opened in 1974 in the former Charles R. Drew High School.

The new facility will be near Ocoee High School and will sit on 37.5 acres with 1,110 student stations and ample room for expansion.

Facility features will include event spaces, a hybrid lab, student commons, human services labs, construction labs, campus store, childcare and a salon that will be open to the community. A construction yard and solar panels are in the plans as well.

The facility is expected to open in 2024.
