The Guilford County (N.C.) school district is planning to construct a kindergarten through fifth grade visual and performing arts magnet school in Greensboro.

The school is replacing the former Peeler Open and Hampton Elementary schools, both of which were damaged by a tornado in 2018, reports WGHP News

The new school will accommodate about 700 students, and 350 spaces are reserved for students living in the school zone. The other 350 spaces will open to any student in the county.

Funds for the school will come from a $33.5 million 2020 bond referendum.

The school is set to open in fall 2024.
