New Construction
Ravenswood City (Calif.) district is constructing two buildings at middle school in East Palo Alto
The Ravenswood City (Calif.) school district is spending $50 million to upgrade facilities at Cesar Chavez Ravenswood Middle School in East Palo Alto.
The $50 million project will remove the portable buildings that have served the campus for more than 30 years, reports The Almanac News. Two buildings will be added: a two-story structure with seven classrooms and a media center that looks out onto two courtyards; and a one-story structure with four classrooms and a cluster of student service offices.
The plan also calls for renovating all remaining classrooms.
The project is funded through a $70 million bond issue passed by voters in 2018.
Construction is slated to be complete in December 2023.
SVA Architects designed the project.
