The Charlotte-Mecklenburg (N.C.) district is constructing a $125 million high school in Ballantyne.
The school will relieve crowding at Ardrey Kell and South Mecklenburg high schools, reports WFAE News.
Ardrey Kell and South Meck have more than 3,000 students.
The district purchased 71 acres for the new school site.
Funding for the school construction comes from a $922 million bond package approved in 2017.
The school is set to open in 2024.
