Aims Community College is expanding its Windsor, Colo., campus
Aims Community College, based in Greeley, Colo., has broken ground on an expansion on the college's Windsor campus.
The planned $18 million expansion includes a 38,000-square-foot academic building an a simulated city for public safety students, reports The Loveland Reporter-Herald.
The new facilities will offer more resources to criminal justice students at the Windsor campus.
Five buildings will be added to simulate real-world situations for public safety training and will include a mock intersection, a search and rescue building, a simulated commercial building, and two simulated two-story houses.
The academic building will feature classrooms, simulators, student common areas, a bistro, private study areas and other spaces.
The project is being funded by the community college's capital funds.
The building is expected to open in spring 2024.
