The University of Texas at Austin begins construction on 784-bed graduate student housing development
The University of Texas at Austin has begun construction on a graduate student housing development on the university's east campus.
The multistory building will provide about 784 beds in studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. The development will have public courtyards, an outdoor classroom and amphitheater, a fitness center, private and group study spaces, and a flexible multipurpose room, the university says in a news release.
The project will offer graduate students a residential option adjacent to campus. The university has entered into a public-private partnership on the development with American Campus Communities. Once construction of the housing has been completed, the university's Housing and Dining will manage the facility.
Construction is expected to be finished in fall 2024.
