The university is moving forward with plans to renovate the Reynolds Building, a vacant tobacco warehouse and create space for College of Design's five programs, the university says in a news release.
The building will be renamed the Gray Design Building in acknowledgement of the gift from Gray Inc.
The new space will enable the college's students, faculty, staff and programs to be housed in one location for the first time. The facility will also house the landscape architecture program, which will co-habitat with design and biomedical engineering will share studio space with the new product design program.
Studio Gang and K Norman Berry Associate Architects are the architects.
