The Pinellas County (Fla.) school district and the YMCA have partnered to build a $50 million campus that will house a middle school and a recreation facility.

The school will serve about 600 students, reports WFLA-TV

The 111,757-square-foot, two-story campus will sit on the former site of Riviera Middle School in St. Petersburg.

The school will have 15 classrooms, an art room, family science lab, TV lab, music room and four exceptional student education rooms.

The YMCA will have a fitness center with cardio and strength equipment, three group exercise studios, a cycling studio, a wellness terrace, a lap pool, a playground and a Kid Zone childcare center.

The school and the Y will share the media center, dining hall, gymnasium, family science lab, pool, sports field and garden.

Students will attend school during the day and have access to the YMCA for before- and after-school care.

The project is expected to be complete in 2024.
