The Columbia (Mo.) district is moving forward with construction of a $25 million elementary school in southwest part of the city.
The school will be built next to the district's John Warner Middle School, reports KRCG-TV.
The new elementary school is being built to accommodate growing enrollment in southwest Columbia.
The district has about 18,500 students. School officials are projecting that number will grow over the next 10 years to about 20,000 students.
