Orcutt Academy High School, a charter school in Orcutt, Calif., is adding a $9 million multipurpose building.
The building will serve as a gym and will include performance areas, reports The Santa Maria Times.
Academy students now share a facility with the adjacent Orcutt Junior High School.
The new building will be situated east of existing facilities.
The multipurpose space will have indoor and outdoor stages for assemblies and performances.
A fenced-in student parking lot with motion-activated lights will also be added.
The facility is expected to be completed in winter 2023 or spring 2024.
