South Umpqua (Ore.) district is expanding middle school

The South Umpqua (Ore.) district is building a $4 million addition to Coffenberry Middle School in Myrtle Creek. 

The addition will house a kitchen, cafeteria and band room. The expansion also will address student safety, reports The News-Review. 

Middle school students now have to walk across the street to Myrtle Creek Elementary School to share amenities. 

The project is expected to be completed by February 2024.
