Florida Southern College has broken ground on an athletic performance center on its Lakeland campus.

The 16,000-square-foot Adams Athletic Performance Center will provide a home for the college's NCAA Division II athletic programs, the college says in a news release.

It will have a 5,000-square-foot varsity weight room, a 40-person theater for film review, a conference room that overlooks Lake Hollingsworth, and an academic center. The facility also will have office suites for women’s and men’s basketball, as well as women’s and men’s lacrosse.

The center is expected to open in spring 2024.

Mesick Cohen Wilson Baker is the architect and Rodda Construction is the builder.
