Community college breaks ground on Warrenton, Va., campus on Center for Skilled Trades
Laurel Ridge Community College has broken ground on an 8,000-square-foot Center for Skilled Trades.
The facility on the Fauquier campus in Warrenton, Va., will provide space for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, heavy equipment operator, carpentry and welding programs, the college says in a news release.
The facility will also enable the college to pursue trades academy partnerships with Fauquier County and Rappahannock County school systems.
The college's campus in Middletown has been offering trades programs for decades, but at the Fauquier campus, those were available only at leased locations or modular buildings.
A 62-acre land donation from Fauquier County to the Laurel Ridge Educational Foundation is enabling the college to construct the new facility.
