Orange Beach City (Ala.) district breaks ground on elementary school addition

The $6 million, 18,000-square-foot addition to Orange Beach Elementary will include a cafetorium with a stage and a media/library room.

The Orange Beach City (Ala.) district has broken ground on a $6 million addition to Orange Beach Elementary School.

The 18,000-square-foot wing will have a cafetorium with a stage and a media/library room, the City of Orange Beach said in a news release.

Other plans call for converting the existing library to three classrooms and converting the existing cafeteria into five classrooms and a breakroom.

Construction is expected to be completed by May 2023.

McKee and Associates Architects, Inc. is the architect, and Bayshore Construction is the builder.
