Connor Academy is constructing a charter school in Chubbuck, Idaho, for grades six to eight.
The $12 million Alpine Academy Charter School will be adjacent to Connor Academy, reports The Idaho State Journal.
Alpine Academy will be a 32,000-square-foot, two-story building that will feature teacher and student collaboration spaces, as well as fitness, art, science, music and performance areas.
Connor Academy is now a K-8 school. With construction of Alpine Academy, Connor Academy will house only K-5 students. In the future, Connor Academy plans to build a high school for grades nine through 12.
Connor Academy opened in 2006 as Academy At Roosevelt Center in the former Roosevelt Elementary School in Pocatello in 2006. In 2015, the school moved to its current location and changed its name to Connor Academy.
Alpine Academy is expected to be completed in July 2023.
Big-D Construction is the construction manager.
