$6 million expansion underway at Dorris Intermediate School in Collinsville, Ill.

The Collinsville (Ill.) district has broken ground on a $6 million expansion and renovation of Dorris Intermediate School.

The 14,000-square-foot expansion will be a two-story addition to the existing school for nearly 1,000 students, reports the Alton Telegraph. 

The addition will have eight classrooms, four restrooms and a therapy room. The renovation will replace ceilings throughout the entire building and reconfigure administrative areas.

FGM is the architect and Holland Construction Services is the builder. 

Construction is expected to be completed by fall 2023.
