The Galveston (Texas) district will replace Ball High School. with a $200 million campus
The project will be completed in phases so students can continue to attend the existing school without resorting to portable buildings, reports The Galveston County Daily News.
Project plans call for splitting the school into two main buildings that will be separated by the town's Avenue O.
Students will have access to a skywalk between the buildings so they won't have to cross the street.
During phase one of the project, the Charles B. Scott building will be torn down. Once the Scott building is down, construction will begin on the north wing of the new high school.
The plan also calls for constructing a natatorium.
Construction is expected to begin in July 2023 and end in about December 2025.
