KGTV-TV reports that the 85,000 square-foot space is expected to be completed in winter 2024.
The new space will replace the old student union and cafeteria buildings. It will have a bookstore, learning communities, a veterans resource support center, a meditation room, a ballroom, and more.
The college's master plan says “the new Student Union will complete the heart of campus by offering a range of activities and spaces for students to gather, socialize, and interact with their peers."
Construction funds come from a bond proposal that voters approved in 2016.
