University of Iowa is building a $249 million Health Sciences Academic Buildling

The 263,000-square-foot, six-story facility will provide academic, administrative, clinical and research space for several programs.

The University of Iowa has broken ground in Iowa City on a six-story, 263,000-square-foot health sciences academic building.

The Health Sciences Academic Building will provide space to house academic, administrative, clinical and research space for three major departments: Communication Sciences and Disorders, Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Sciences, and Health and Human Physiology.

The $249 million project is being funded by a combination of University Hospitals Building Usage funds, university investment income and private donations. 

The architect is RDG Planning & Design, and the construction manager is Miron Construction Company.
