Charter school in Louisiana is building facility for middle and high school

The new space for JS Clark Leadership Academy in Opelousas is scheduled to be completed in January 2025.

JS Clark Leadership Academy, a charter school in Opelousas, Louisiana, is building a $29 million facility for middle and high school grades.

The 52,400-square-foot single-story building will have an administration corridor, 16 classrooms, two vocational training rooms, a spacious science lab, an indoor/outdoor art area, a band room, a large commons/dining room, a full-service commercial kitchen, a basketball gym with arena-style lighting for dual volleyball games, an athletic multi-purpose room, and weight and locker rooms.

The project also encompasses a new sewage lift station, a deceleration lane, drive lanes, a bus loop, pavement, equestrian-style fencing, a regulation-size football practice field, a detention pond, and various hardscape and softscape features.

Construction is scheduled for completion in January 2025.

The builder is Rudick Construction Group, and the architect is Grace Hebert Curtis Architects.
