The Brunswick News reports that the Center for the Arts is the result of a partnership between the college, the Glynn County school district and the University System of Georgia.
The 32,328-square-foot center will have an auditorium that seats 1,000, professional-level acoustics and space to accommodate musical concerts, dance performances, lectures, meetings and other community events.
Glynn County voters approved the project in 2015 and voted to spend $20 million in sales tax funds to build the center.
