Community Impact reports that the 213,000-square-foot, three-story facility in Atascocita is expected to cost about $80.8 million and is designed to house around 1,100 students.
It is scheduled to open before the start of the 2025-26 school year.
Funds for the project come from a $775 million bond package approved by voters in May 2022.
The school will have three stories with one grade housed on each level. Each floor of the building will have an outdoor learning area.
The new middle school will serve students residing in neighborhoods now zoned to Autumn Ridge and West Lake middle schools, with the potential to take on some students zoned to attend Woodcreek Middle School, the district says.
