Two elementary schools are under construction in the Elgin (Texas) Independent School District.
Harvest Ridge Elementary, the district's fourth elementary campus, is scheduled to open in August, and Trinity Ranch Elementary is expected to open in 2025, according to Pfluger Architects, which has designed both schools.
Funding for both schools comes from a $171.7 million bond proposal approved by voters in 2021. Each school will have space for about 800 students.
The budget for Harvest Ridge is about $38.4 million, and the budget for Trinity Ranch is about $39.4 million, the district says.
Each elementary school will have about 84,200 square feet of space. An interior courtyard will bring natural light to all classrooms and also will function as an outdoor classroom. The media center is at the heart of the school and has ample glazing for visibility and connectivity.
