Notre Dame High School in South St. Louis County, Missouri, is building a $5 million "STREAM" center that will focus on studies in the science, technology, religion, engineering, art and mathematics fields.

KSDK-TV  reports The 16,000-square-foot building at the all-girls Catholic school will provide new science rooms, new art rooms and state-of-the-art classrooms.

Construction and renovation will be finished in fall 2025.

The school's president, Mark Bayens, says the addition will help the school accommodate an increase in enrollment.

"We have 265 students," Bayens says. "Our enrollment's been up the last two years, almost 20% and we're hoping to get to 300 students in the next three years."

Notre Dame High School officials say over 8,000 alumnae have graduated from the school in over 90 years.
