Walker County (Alabama) approves contract for new high school in Dora

The new Dora High School will replace a facility that was built in 1969.

The Walker County (Alabama) school board has approved a $45.4 million contract to build a new Dora High School.

The Daily Mountain Eagle reports that the board approved a $45,360,000 bid submitted by Clements Dean Building Company. The project calls for building the new Dora High School and converting the existing facility to a middle school.

The high school will be built in the field in front of the existing Dora High, which was built in 1969.

Construction is expected to begin during the 2024-25 school year.
