1,800-student elementary under construction in Bethel Park (Pennsylvania) district

The three-story 280,000-square-foot campus is scheduled to open in 2026.

The Bethel Park (Pennsylvania) School District has unveiled renderings of a 280,000-square-foot elementary school now under construction.

The district says the facility, which will accommopdate up to 1,800 students, is being built on the Neil Armstrong Middle School campus.

The school, scheduled to open in 2026, will have three stories, two gymnasiums, two playgrounds, three STEAM labs, and two libraries.

Its layout and design features focus on the needs of primary (K-2) and intermediate (3-5) students while fostering collaboration among staff and eliminating building-to-building travel for special-subject teachers.

In addition to classrooms, the school will have collaborative spaces and a 300-seat large group instruction area.

The renderings highlight how natural colors and elements of nature support the building's national park theme and support wayfinding to respective learning spaces within the school.

The architect is DRAW Collective, the general contractor is Rycon Construction, and the construction manager is Massaro Construction Group.
