The Pawtucket (Rhode Island) district has broken ground for a new high school on the site of a former minor league baseball stadium.

WLNE-TV reports that Unified Pawtucket High School will have about 375,000 square feet of space and will unite Tolman Senior High School and Shea Senior High School on one campus. Officials say that the $326 million project is the largest and most expensive school project in Rhode Island’s history.

The new school will have a capacity of about 2,100 students, and the new school will offer an integrated high school offering academic programs and career & technical education programs.

McCoy Stadium is being torn down to make room for the school. It had been home to the Pawtucket Red Sox, but it has been vacant since the team moved to Worcester, Massachusetts.

Officials said the school is set to be finished in 2029.
