The St. Cloud (Minn.) district is renovating the 60,000-square-foot Katherine Johnson Education Center to house another program.

Work on the building, formerly the CentraCare Recovery Plus building, started in fall 2021. The center houses the district's Riverwoods Level IV program and will soon add the InStep program, reports The Saint Cloud Times

A Level IV program focuses on educating students who spend most of their day outside the regular classroom. InStep is a transition program for 18- to 21-year-old students with moderate to severe disabilities to continue their education, particularly focused on independent living and job training.

The renovation will create instructional spaces that cater specifically to the programs.

The renovation is expected to be completed in time for the 2022-23 school year.
