Mount Desert Island High School in Bar Harbor, Maine, is receiving major renovations
Mount Desert Island High School in Bar Harbor, Maine, is undergoing a major renovation.
The project will enlarge the library and update six science labs, reports the Mount Desert Island.
The library will be expanded to a second floor and a lab and a classroom will be added on the second floor.
The plan also will create a new main entrance for the school, and put a larger main office between the new main entrance and the library.
District officials said all the stacks for the library would be on the first floor, along with some small quiet spaces. The second floor would be more of an open area for larger group work, with two small breakout rooms.
Oak Point Associates is the architect.
