Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, plans a $62 million renovation of academic building
Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, is planning a $62 million renovation of Bachelor Hall that will enable the university to house all humanities classes in one building.
The 43-year-old building now is home to the English, mathematics and speech pathology and audiology departments, the American Culture and English program, and the Humanities Center.
The upgrades will enable the university to move the media journalism and film, philosophy, history and comparative religion departments to the facility, reports The Miami Student.
Bachelor Hall also will undergo structural updates, including a new roof and modernized interior spaces.
University officials said the renovation will enclose the existing courtyard to make it a large two-level atrium space that will provide more community and collaborative spaces.
