Herron Preparatory Academy, which opened last year in temporary trailers in the parking lot of Herron High School, is expected to move into the former headquarters of the Salvation Army in 2023, The Indianapolis Star reports.
The school has about 120 students in kindergarten through second grade and plans to add a grade each year until eighth grade is included.
The building was purchased from The Children's Museum of Indianapolis for an undisclosed price. The charter network will spend $3 million to $4 million to renovate and expand the site.
