$8.9 million renovation slated for high school in Danville, Ill.
Danville High School in Danville, Ill., is undergoing an $8.9 million renovation.
The project will overhaul the school's outdated 1972 addition on the building's north side, reports The News-Gazette.
Project plans include third floor renovations, which will create collaborative spaces.
Improvements also will be made on the second floor, which includes the library media center, gaming room, audio-video room, podcast area, broadcasting area and green room.
The upgrades will also add new science, chemistry, biology labs as well as new art rooms.
School officials said the project will also include new mechanicals, a new HVAC system, flooring, ceiling and lighting.
Students will be moved away from construction areas while work is underway during the school year.
