$38 million in state funding will enable Abbeville County (S.C.) district to renovate multiple schools
The Abbeville County (S.C.) district has received $38 million in state funding to complete renovations at multiple schools.
The funding will be used for major upgrades at Dixie High School, Abbeville High School, and the Abbeville County Career Center, reports WSPA-TV.
The projects include adding new kitchens and cafeterias along with two-story academic wings at both Dixie High School and Abbeville High School.
The Abbeville County Career Center will receive new office and program space.
The state allocated the funds to Abbeville County following a study commissioned by the South Carolina Department of Education to decide where to spend $140 million earmarked for disadvantaged schools.
