In its 2018 World University Rankings, the London-based magazine says California Institute of Technology and Stanford University each received a score of 93.0.
The Times Higher Education calculates the scores based on measures of 13 performance indicators that assess schools “across all of their core missions—teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.”
In the worldwide rankings, Cal Tech and Stanford tied for third, behind two British institutions—University of Oxford and University of Cambridge.
