Massachusetts is the most educated of the 50 states, according to an analysis by the website WalletHub.
To rank the most and least educated states in America, WalletHub looked at 18 metrics, which all into two categories: educational attainment and quality of education.
The specific metrics included those 25 and older with a high school diploma; with at least some college; with a bachelor's degree; and with a graduate or professional degree.
Other factors examined were quality of public school systems and universities; public high school graduate rate; and racial and gender gaps in educational attainment.
Based on a 100-point scale, Massachusetts scored 81.84. It had the highest percentage of people with bachelor's degrees and the highest percentage of people with graduate or professional degrees.
