The average salary for instructional staff in U.S. public schools in 2018-19 was $64,545, according to data from the National Education Association.

The average salary rose 2.52% compared with the 2017-18 average of $62,956.

The NEA's Rankings of the States 2019 and Estimates of School Statistics 2020 says that the range of average salaries in individual states ranged from $47,437 in Mississippi to $86,609 in New York.
