San Diego district reinstates mask mandates for all schools, offices
The San Diego district is reinstating a mask mandate as Covid cases continue rise in San Diego County.
The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that starting Monday, all students and staff will have to wear a mask while indoors.
The mask mandate will last at least two weeks.
Masks have been optional in the district since April 4.
When a county has a high community Covid level, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that people wear well-fitting masks while in public indoors, including at schools.
“We will continue to monitor the Covid-19 community level according to the CDC and County data, and we will communicate if there are any changes in two weeks,” district officials said.
